We have adopted\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">the UNWTO Global Code of Ethics in Tourism,\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">and also support the ST-EP initiative (Sustainable\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Tourism-Eliminating Poverty).\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Sk\u00e5l is affiliated to\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">other important international organisations such as\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">IIPT, The Code, ECPAT, ICTP, STI.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Following the United Nations declaration of 2002\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">as the Year of Ecotourism and the Mountains,\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Sk\u00e5l International launched these Awards in the\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">same year, to highlight and acknowledge best\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">practices around the globe.
